The Sydney Eye Specialist Centre (SESC) is an independent centre, owned and operated by Ophthalmologists. Established in 1985, we are licensed by NSW Health, and certified to comply with AS/NZS ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Continuous quality improvement ensures that highest standards of care are provided.
We are recognised by Medicare, Department of Veterans Affairs and Health Insurance funds for payment of procedure rebates, accommodation and theatre and prosthesis benefits.

We have two centres conveniently located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Consultations and assessments are available at both Double Bay and Kingsford. The Day Surgery and Laser suite is located at the Kingsford.
Eye assessments for refractive surgery, cataract, glaucoma and medical retina require consultation and an increasing range of tests. We are proud that we provide the best technology to carry out these tests. Our assessments are comprehensive so that diagnosis and treatment is as accurate as possible.
We will try to offer an appointment with your chosen Specialist promptly. Availability of appointments may vary from time to time. For this reason our staff may offer an appointment with one of our other Specialists to accommodate your request.
At our Centres you will be warmly welcomed by our receptionist staff. Your eyes will be thoroughly examined by our clinical staff and Doctors. Considering the uniqueness of your eyes and your vision, the results will show if surgery, will be of benefit to you and which treatment option is best. The time taken to assess your eyes will be between one to two hours. It is recommended you bring dark sunglasses with you to wear home.
We try to provide clear costing for each visit. Consultations and any tests carried out will be discussed with our staff. Please enquire prior to your visit about expected costs.
A detailed explanation of the surgery and associated risks will be given, and you will have the opportunity to have all your questions answered.
