How we chose our new lasers

We have been closely involved in laser vision correction since the first SUMMIT excimer laser was introduced in Australia nearly 20 years ago. Since then we have used the NIDEK EC 5000, TECHNOLAS 217C and SCHWIND ESIRIRS 200 Lasers.
In September 2010 we decided to upgrade to our 5th generation system. A number of exciting new systems had become available and we wanted to choose the very best.
We have chosen the SCHWIND AMARIS 750S excimer laser and the ZEIMER CRYSTAL LINE LDV femtosecond laser.

SCHWIND AMARIS 750S Excimer Laser

This laser reshapes the cornea to correct vision. The AMARIS 750S is the fastest available excimer laser with the most advanced 6 dimensional eye tracking system. Combined with precise laser energy control, more accurate results are achieved with a shorter treatment process.

ZEIMER CRYSTAL LINE LDV Femtosecond Laser

This laser creates a corneal flap for the LASIK procedure (Bladeless Z-LASIK).It has the fastest available repetition rate of 500,000 pulses per second to create our smooth, precise plane of separation in the cornea. It overcomes weaknesses inherent in alternate Femtosecond systems.

The two lasers are used as you, the patient, lie in one position for a few minutes.

"No other combination offers such speed and convenience".
